Our faith is at the heart of who we are and shapes the way we care for every patient who walks through our doors. The Lord inspires us to serve with compassion, treat others with kindness and respect, and build lasting relationships grounded in honesty, integrity, and genuine care. We consider it a privilege to serve our community and are grateful for the trust families have placed in us for generations.

Three Generations of Trusted Eye Care

Martin Eye Clinic's story began with Dr. John Martin, who practiced optometry in Davenport, Iowa. Inspired by his father's dedication to patient care, Dr. Don Martin relocated to Vinton in 1954, where he took over an existing optometry practice and built it into the trusted neighborhood institution it remains today. Under his leadership, the clinic became known for its compassionate care, personalized service, and deep community roots.

In 1986, Dr. Michael G. Martin joined his father after earning his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry and completing an ocular disease fellowship at Wolfe Clinic in Marshalltown. Today, he continues the family tradition, combining nearly four decades of clinical experience with modern diagnostic technology while maintaining the warm, relationship-centered approach that has defined Martin Eye Clinic for more than seventy years.

Generations of families continue to trust Martin Eye Clinic because of its unwavering commitment to treating every patient with compassion, respect, and personalized attention.
